“I want to make my home into a home I can be proud of but I am not a designer and I don’t want to deal with “arty designers” or slick contractors that cost a fortune and try to mould me to their ideas rather than helping me to express my own.  Some of my ideas are solid but some are just vague thoughts. I need someone who is both a home designer and a professional contractor whom I can trust to bounce ideas off, who will work with me creatively, bring my ideas together and help me find what’s right for me at a price I can afford. I don’t know exactly everything I want all I do know is that I want my home improvement project executed with taste in a design that increases the style, function, beauty and value of my home.

With my prior contractors I had to police everything they did. I don’t want to be lying awake nights wondering if things are done right or if I’m being taken advantage of. Most of all, I don’t want to end up paying too much for a remodel that does not return its value in today’s market.  I need a friend -- someone who knows contracting but someone with taste, a great eye for design and a flair for organization who can turn my ideas into reality. Someone who will act as my advocate, who will be “very picky” on my behalf, who will take all the burden of the prosject off me so I can stop spending my valuable time wondering if everything is going all right. I want someone who will find the right people for the job, protect my investment, deal with any problems that may come up, represent me and my best interests and be my eyes and ears on the job.

I know the horror stories -- the contractor who works on the job a few days a week, who can’t or won’t communicate with the client, who isn’t doing what he said he would, and who is finding lots of expensive extras not budgeted for. I need protection.  I want a design and project manager who is responsible, knowledgeable and a good communicator who is on my side, working for me, who will stand between me and the contractors, oversee the project from start to finish and make sure the job gets done properly to a prescheduled scope of work while I enjoy watching my home improvement dreams become a reality.”
